  2. So distrubing! At the 17:20 mark Doug says about Mal. 4:5 "Jesus SEEMS to IMPLY that same spirit of John the Baptist , one calling people to revival that will prepare the way of the Lord, make way for the Lord in the wilderness, will come again before the second coming of Jesus."

Really is that what it SAYS? " Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD.." Is God's word "seemingly" attempting to say something here? Or is it a plain and clear promise of the Lord?

Why don't people start to take the Bible as it READS. SOP has words of counsel for us —

"The truths most plainly revealed in the Bible have been involved in doubt and darkness by learned men, who, with a pretense of great wisdom, teach that the Scriptures have a mystical, a secret, spiritual meaning not apparent in the language employed. These men are false teachers. It was to such a class that Jesus declared: “Ye know not the Scriptures, neither the power of God.” Mark 12:24. The language of the Bible should be explained according to its obvious meaning, unless a symbol or figure is employed. Christ has given the promise: “If any man will do His will, he shall know of the doctrine.” John 7:17. If men would but take the Bible as it reads, if there were no false teachers to mislead and confuse their minds, a work would be accomplished that would make angels glad and that would bring into the fold of Christ thousands upon thousands who are now wandering in error. " (Great Controversy, p.598)

God has kept HIS WORD. SDA leaders such as Doug fail to "take the Bible as it reads". No "spirit" of Elijah is coming before a prophet comes, a prophet in the spirit and power of Elijah, who THEN will have people to go forth in that same spirit.
