WHY JESUS DESCENDED FROM THE TRIBE OF JUDAH RATHER THAN ANOTHER SON OF JACOB?| #biblestories FYTube

Why Jesus descended from the tribe of Judah rather than another son of Jacob”
“Well, most people know that Jesus was a Jew, but very few people know why he was a Jew. Why he came from the Tribe of Judah. There were 12 tribes of Israel; that means 12 sons that Jacob had. Later, his name was changed to Israel, and his children were known as the children of Israel. These 12 sons, each of them grew into a tribe, and so you had the firstborn was Reuben, and the second born with Simeon and Levi, then Judah, and then on down the line. Most people don’t realize why Jesus was a Jew, why did he come from the tribe of Judah? Well, that often-missed story and reason are inside the story of Joseph. So let’s take a look at the Messiah. “Why did Jesus come from Judah and not another tribe? The Gospel of Matthew opens with a genealogy—the bloodline of Jesus traced back through history from Joseph and Mary to King David, Judah, and his brothers, the patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Concluding: And Jacob, the father of Judah and his brothers. Wait, what? Judah and his brothers? Us? You likely remember the famous Joseph from Sunday school. Oh, the favored son of Jacob who rose to power in Egypt after being sold into slavery by his jealous brothers. But who was Judah? Judah was Leah’s fourthborn son from the unloved wife of Jacob. We read little about him, yet all the gospel writers pay close attention to detail, showing Jesus descended from obscure Judah. You likely know Jesus as the lion of the tribe of Judah. But why was this specific tribe attached to the long-awaited Messiah? After all, Judah was not Jacob’s firstborn nor the most prominent son in Genesis, and his moral failures early on make his tribe seem like the most unlikely lineage for Christ. Yet, against the odds, Jesus arose out of Judah, overlooking elder brothers and more prominent sons. God planted Christ’s origin within Judah’s family tree.
The first that we hear about a Messiah is in the Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve sinned. God said to the serpent, he said, ‘Look, you’re going to bruise his heel,’ talking about the savior that would restore man to the relationship with God that Adam and Eve lost, get them back into the Garden of Eden, back into the presence of God, get them justified and redeemed. He said, ‘You, talking to the devil, you’ll bruise his heel.’ And that’s a later we find out how did he bruise his heel? He did it by crucifixion and killing him temporarily. But then God says, ‘But he will eventually, you know, step on your head.’ And so in other words, he’ll win, and that was a foretelling of the resurrection. Not very much there, just one sentence, but you know, we learn a little bit. We know he’s going to come from the woman. It’s not going to be just created; he’s going to be born of a woman. And this is how it’s going to happen.
