"Committing our lives to Christ" is nowhere in the scriptures. It is not in any of the scriptures regarding salvation. Even the concept of 'accepting Jesus as Lord and savior" and "Committing one's life to Christ" is not there. Salvation is by grace through FAITH. Faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus the Christ. Nothing about what we do except faith, its ALL about what He did for us. Even then each person is given a measure of faith so its still about Him.
