4:00 … I'm sorry but this verse is incorrect. I went to my Hebrew Bible to read what it says. "Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor imprint any marks upon you: I am the Lord." This is saying that when mourning the dead, do not follow the practices of the pagans who take a knife and cut their skin and make marks on their skin to their gods. This verse is just saying that you should not marry your skin in any way because of mourning someone. It's not talking about tattoos as we know them today. But we should consider is when we get a tattoo is this something that's led by the Holy Spirit to do or are you just following the practices of the pagans? Making a mark of something evil on your skin will attract evil.
It says in the name of the dead. A tattoo does not condemn you. God wants you. A tattoo or cut in the name of the dead is tantamount to necromancy.

I most likely won't ever get a tattoo. I was raised believing I don't necessarily need them. As well as I was also raised during the time that most places would not hire one who had a tattoo.
However, I know many people with tattoos.. I do see many of their tats as well done artistic pieces.. but It doesn't make me "worship" that person or their tat..
I personally feel if someone has a tattoo or several tattoos.. I would personally suggest to remain very modest and remember everything in moderation.. and to try and keep the tat or tats in a spot that is mostly covered or entirely covered as much as possible.
People really do tend to judge you when you have a tattoo.. or can draw inappropriate attention to the tattoos in some manner..
