  1. this guy again misunderstood another deity of Hindus. Kama literally translates to Desire. and Desire does not only mean union of man and woman. A person have desire of his son. A sage have desire of God. A hungry has desire of food etc. That is why, when Kama was burnt to ashes by Shiva, whole world collapsed. No one had any desire. The earth stopped. and this is when Brahma and Vishnu prayed to Shiva to rekindle Kama. Kama was made alive but without any body so that world could function. After he is re-kindled from ashes, on Rati's prayer, Shiva gave boon to Rati that Kama will get body after being born as Son of Krishna , the avatar of Vishnu. Kama originally was born from Brahma and then later he was reborn as son of Vishnu. Also, Kama should not be compared to cupid, he was just equivalent of a simple function of God Kama or Gan of Kama.
