I feel that the people who were behind these so called confessors where nothing but sadistic sadomasochists who got a sick erotic pleasure from watching others being tortured and eventually and mercifully killed. This was a no win situation for the victims. Even if they confessed, they died. Humanity has come up with many ways to be cruel to one another. The witch hunts were not men doing God's work, it was simply a form of perverse evil contrived by those in power to instill obedience through fear.
The lengths of what evil men will do against the name of God to get people to confess to things that some are not guilty of !! They will be judged according to their deeds.
