I attended rural Baptist church my whole life until I moved to Seattle at 28 and there I attended a “mega church”. As I entered I was overwhelmed by the size of the venue. And as I walked into the “church”, my stomach was tight and I felt lost. Like a child attending there first day of school only, my mama wasn’t holding my hand. I sat amongst thousands none of which said a word to me. No greeting, no acknowledgement of my presence. I stayed for all of 10 minutes when I asked, “ Lord, are you here?” He answered. I am always with you, but my spirit lives not in this house.” I left and never went back.
