This story is amazing and very fantastic.
I bet the mother killed the son and lied about her husband. The villagers probably weren't eating well either. And probably the dude was burried alive when they thought he was dead and when they openned his grave he was uncounciously breathing after so much time had passed without air or his brain was still sending signals to his body. If he was still alive then the villagers probably murdered him. There are obviously a lot of missunderstandings and the people of that time didn't have the knowledge we have now but it is fun to speculate what really happened taking away all the fantasy.
