What Happened To The Garden of Eden? | Biblical Mysteries FYTube

The fate of the Garden of Eden, the paradise where Adam and Eve lived before their expulsion, has been a topic of theological debate and speculation for centuries. According to the biblical narrative in Genesis, after Adam and Eve disobeyed God by eating from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, they were expelled from Eden, and the garden was guarded by a cherub wielding a flaming sword to prevent their return. However, what happened to the Garden of Eden after the expulsion remains unclear. Over the centuries, various religious, historical, and symbolic interpretations have been proposed, ranging from Eden being destroyed, hidden, or even being moved to a different spiritual realm.

  1. While Eden is probably based on a real geographic location either near Sumeria or the land of canaan and it's characters are also based on actual people/eponymous ancestors , it's use in the bible is largely proverbial/symbolic/allegorical, aka morale in intent.

You see a lot of Edenic language mostly in places like the temple setup and poetic writings of the Hebrew Bible, that's probably not on accident, as well as characters like Adam & elohim are used in unique ways typologically and in collective/general terms elsewhere after the primeval tradition portions of the hebrew bible where the exact same use of the words in the primeval traditions are used or translated as proper names and singular figures.

So just based off how later writers use the terminology, them reading Genesis Eden account would probably be more of a didactic/morale lesson, not necessarily a historical one, though it is based off general pre written history traditions. Some also say Cain and Abel are similarly done for the same reason and even the ages of the early parts.

Primeval tradition especially around that part of the world in general utilize multi layered information for mnemonic purposes so even people not realizing what they're being told to keep orally down the generations has layers, will still maintain a sufficient amount of integrity on what the originators of the story were trying to convey.

This is why a kid can read Eden and get a general idea of the basic morale lesson: listen to God, not the serpent, or you will die and be separated from God

And then others more studied will figure out "tree of life", is just a euphemism for "wisdom" by reading similar language in Proverbs.

There's something positive everyone can get out of it from every level of reading comprehension, from the illiterate, young, literate, old, etc

  2. Why doesn't God want us to have knowledge? Meaning freedom of choice? Free will? Why is it called the tree of knowledge? And why did test us? And if God is all knowing that means he knew that we were going to eat from it. So why do it in the first place
