Jesus said he would return after the tribulation at the last trumpet on the clouds with his angels and everyone will see him coming THEN he will gather his people the righteous dead and those who are alive and believe. Jesus prayed John 17:15 father I ask you not to take them out of the world but to keep and protect them from the evil one. Paul said in thessalonian that "that day" the return of christ and the resurrection of the righteous can not happen UNTIL the man of prediction stands in the temple claiming he is god.
