Love the show since you talked about immigration, and I have firsthand experience trying to immigrate to the USA in a legal way;
Way back in 2019, I filed an employment visa application to USCIS. Since Employment base visas 1 and 2 are really hard to get nowadays, we put down 500k for "investment." for the Employment base 5 petition visa, fast forward to now (5+ years), and I am still waiting for my case to be processed and live in the US legally. And even though if I get a green card, that is a conditional green card only valid for 2 years, and if something goes wrong in that 500k investment or policy change, I will unable to get an unconditional green card, and, most importantly, the process with the unconditional green card will take another 2-4 years waiting. So basically, we need to spend 10 years getting a "life-long" unconditional green card or undergoing the nationalization process.
What I'm trying to say is that I had reasonable doubt about why I did that, especially when people are dropping 10k USD to cartels, going to the US illegally, getting into the US with no questions asked and verified, and can get aid and find jobs right away. Why would I have to wait endlessly for the case process in USCIS? Groups of people like me are all frustrated and feel that it is unfair to the people who do everything by the book.
I’m a Bay Area native. San Francisco is a dumping ground these days. Literally, human feces on the sidewalks and streets everywhere. Tons of vacant graffiti riddled buildings because big box stores have closed their stores due to looting. Homeless people everywhere, drug users using in public, people distributing needles and enabling drug users, car thefts and vandalism (even while you are in your car at a stoplight), and much more crime. SF isn’t what it used to be. It’s sad.
