Singapore is amazingly clean. Specially for a city that has such a huge amount of Indian immigrants. I literally cycled the entire citje and surroundings, it's on Japan level of cleanness.
Generating energy from trash (non recyclable plastics mostly) is what most of the developped countries do with their trash. Only the ashes that are left over go into landfills.
Whilst it is true they're not attempting to improve the method of recycling because of costs, they're also not doing anything about it because 75% of everyone isn't aware of this joke, so governments don't feel the need to change it. Because their isn't any public outrage and votes on the line.
I can guarantee if people protested as passionately about recycling than they did about BLM, Palestine, etc, changes would be made.
But, this is unlikely to happen because 75% of us are busy being distracted by bullshit like the Kardashians on the idiot box.
