Those monks had it coming
And people thought monks only know "Peace". What they really meant was "Piece"..as in "they'll rip you to pieces".
I assume the sohei were synonymous to the ikko ikki. I’ve read a lot about the Nizari Ismaili Assassins and I have to say: the warrior monks of japan seem to share a lot of similar traits. I’ve always wanted to look deeper into this but I’ve never had the time.
Sounds like Japans version of the Shaolin Monks
