Two things obvious here. 1. Joe has no idea what a troll is. 2. He doesn't understand Jake Tappers page is a shit hole because he's a liar and a fuckface.
Trolls doesn't = Rioters
DeFranco is a smart guy, but pretty darn naive with it comes to trolls. Rogan is kinda wrong, as well, because trolls don't really don't want to burn it all down. I mean, some probably do, and some may, deep down, hold a grudge that secretly translates into wanting to burn it all down, but in all honesty trolls just don't care. They don't care if someone succeeds, fails or anything. Saying what they say and doing what they do is a rush, an addiction, and that's all they care about. The world could be burning around them and they wouldn't care or technically be happy, they just dgaf.
DeFranco is naive, in my opinion, because I don't see the internet as getting better at all when it comes to people recognizing their words have weight on the web. I mean, the word is getting out there that cyber-bullying is a problem, but I don't feel like it's enough, and at the very least an entire generation of computer dwellers are lost to this, well, lets just call it ideology. No amount of generosity will set these people straight.
Last thing – you have to talk about the anonymity of the internet when you talk about trolls. 70-80% of these fuckers wouldn't say any of what they say in person. I think a lot of people misinterpreted Milo as normalizing hate speech. No, he's normalizing public trolling. Not sure if that's better or worse, actually.
