Robots turning against mankind might make for great sci-fi horror flicks, it sells well in the box office, but I think it is far from reality. People have simply watched Terminator, or Maximum Overdrive, one too many times.
We are never going to ever give mechanical beings, sentience.
We are more likely to create biological sentient beings, before we ever create a mechanical sentient being.
Robots will never be anything more than tools. So fearing robots one day rising up against mankind, would be like believing your desktop will one day say fuck you and kill you.
the gravel chewer talks shit. No way are we in a sim. Who'd simulate the humdrum of everyday boring life, illness etc. Plus avatars don't just suddenly appear and disappear, rock stars die by the needle or gun. It takes a process, just doesn't happen randomly.
