  1. i grew up a country boy i hoed weeds out of bean fields in 1969 my first job 0.25 an hour.graduated in my teens to hauling hay.75-100lb square bales..i remember they both sucked but made money.we raked leaves in the fall shoveled snow in the winter and if needed money bad enough we'd even go around and sing christmas carols..lmao…only did that on once..looking at this the good point i suppose i was not stealing to get weed money.worked my whole life

  2. My summer job in 1969 was parking cars at The Hungry Tiger on Ventura and the Yamashiro Imperial Sky Room and The Magic Castle, I was 17. Get up early? Why? And I never did coke, watched a lot of people go down cause of it.

  3. I think everyone 17 18, boys mainly should work summer jobs that teach discipline and work ethic. Whether it's construction, landscaping, or tree service like I did. Best thing I could've done, almost every hurdle I encounter with the job I do now seems like nothing now that I've experienced such immense physical challenges. Having a good boss who could also be a mentor was huge too. Even learning basic stuff that you might not think is a big deal at a young age like showing up 10 minutes early, not 2 minutes late. It's a great way to set yourself up for success in life.
