  1. So….The first corporation, the East Indian Trading Company (or something like that) wanted a monopoly on tea, so they took over India and when Indian's rebelled and starting fighting back, the corporation got the British Empire to send troops. This proven model has been used ever since. We have Western corporations r_ping and pillaging the people, the resources, and the land of the 3rd World and when the locals resist, the corporations get their gov to send in the military. Thus, the men (and now women) in the military make sure the profits keep rolling in with the sons and daughters of the wealthy rarely being sent, rarely put in harm's way. As long as we are sending soldiers into harms way, they need to have the best technology and support we can provide.

While this is going on, the soldier's families back at home need to be taken care of, the soldiers themselves (should they survive) need to be taken care of. No vet should have to wait for months to receive mental health treatment, no vet who has been poisoned by burn pits should be told that we won't take care of them after they come home. It is the very least we can do, and "thoughts and prayers" should be just the beginning. "Support the Troops" can't be just a political meme while when the Bills come up to provide housing and healthcare for their families (as well as the soldiers themselves) are voted down. It is unconscionable how little troops and their families are actually supported beyond just lip-service.

Do I think the US should be the world's police force? No. But the wealthy who are r_ping and pillaging the world need to be stopped from continuing to do this before military budgets get paired down, well before. You can't lead with limiting budgets while our men and women are still in harm's way…..
