  1. Noticed a lot of people on here saying 'no you do get a cycle on birth control'… actually no, you don't. She is correct. The 'period' is not a real period, it's a 'withdrawal bleed' and comes from the withdrawal effects of not taking the medication for that week. The other major part of a woman's cycle is ovulation, which is where she gets pregnant and one of the ways that BC prevents pregnancy is by stopping ovulation.

    Moral of the story is, do some research to understand your own cycle (if you're female) or women's cycles (if you're male) and stop assuming stuff.
