I worked with a guy in SF that was a member of the church on Geary. He was pretty young but remembers his mom talking about being on the list and in a year he would go to a different school far away. They never made it down. It wasn't until high school when he understood what had happened. He never spoke bad of the church. He said they clothed and fed thousands of people in the neighborhood. They did help a lot of needy people, then went full blown whack-a-do.
