If this is really it, that’s scary, and I’m just glad that Pewdiepie is fine now. One of my friends used to tell me confidently that “Pewds was shit and a Nazi” whenever the topic came up. I couldn’t shake the feeling of doubt and asked for more details, but he would just be vague and just said that he was right. Probably didn’t even watch the original clips. Just mindlessly believes word of mouth or any news source that spouts off false news.
Some guy just wrote me with a a question that when i answered he'd fucked off again, so i had to find the post he wrote in, and answer, as im not writing for 20 min just to delete it all… Here goes..
Im a brit living in Denmark since 1973. I moved back to England in the 90's and stayed for most of the decade. Felix knows the gramma as most Scandinavias do, but its very very strong. All Scandinavians will have this very awful accent, and i had it too in 1980-1983 or so. But i heard my English teacher speak around 82-83 and it was so embarrassing to me to think i probably sound like that too, that i just decided to become 100% english from thay day on. So everything became English and i listened to my monty Python records daily and just forced myself to do it right, and when we hit the 1990s i had turned into a BBC journalist basically. That was helpful when moving to England in 94.
But also confusing as i was this dark demon in black skirts and handcufs and a mohawk with tons of make up, and sounded like this posh geezer. And brits dont really sound like that. That's the English tapes we get though. That's the queens English.
But the brits are lazy so they shorten everything.. So no one goes.. Do you mind passing me the butter, oh that's swell my good chap. And so on. Its much morre.. Oi mate, hand us the butter will ya.?
And being a sponge i took it all in. So i got this mish mash of Scottish and Irish and Cockney shit going on today that no one i know here speaks. It became the strert languages based on the people i met around England. So i can get into any accent and understand them fine, and that helps me with watching anything from Guy Ritchie stuff to Rab C Nesbit and thats great. But my BBC Harry Potter trip is gone. Nothing to do there.. 😁
But to get back to your question, i used to think it was good here. But its atrocious. English is the most beautiful language on the planet. But only when spoken by Steven Fry or something like that. I wouldn't date a 19 year old Rachel Riley clone, if she sounded like Babara Windsor. Im an accent nazi of the worst kind. But thays good for me, o can hear when ots wrong and can correct myself. Not a lot of people can do that. Like all Swedes i met always said.. That's so Sheep, or I need to Sjange.. When they ment.. That's so cheap, or i need to change.
That hurts my ears a lot. But its the only language i feel that way about. My other languages can be with an accent. Just not the mother tongue 😉
