I also get the feeling JR isn't really paying attention to the havoc these SJW/wokeists are creating in the UK, and the US. Not in China or Russia though.
Shatner is actually speaking up for people, for society, in a good way. He's fighting back against these fascists, this fascist way of thinking and "cancelling" people, and not many stars are doing this. Like Ricky Gervais, and Lawrence Fox, the actor they're trying to "cancel" in the UK, Shatner has guts, and he's intelligent enough to see what these people are doing to society.
Maybe try calling out these "wokeists" yourself. SJWs is a yesterday term now, it's "wokeists", and they're getting people's careers ruined all over the place, every country. It doesn't have to be a celebrity, could be a professor, a politician, anyone with a career that they can attack.
Fortunately Shatner doesn't give a shit, he's already done everything. Part of the reason homo sapiens have survived this long is because they kept their elders alive, looked after them, and therefore benefited from their wisdom.
The one who alerted us all to this incredibly fascist way of thinking was Jordan Peterson, and JR did have him on the show, kudos for doing that, because Canadian media was unbelievably mean and nasty towards him, walking in lockstep with leftist idiots who denounced him and ostracized him. However, you may not have been following developments. Children being targeted for life-ruining surgeries and drugs that will render them unable to have biological children, the "non-binary, gender-shifting" trend is horrible. A judge in the UK just declared TERF to be a slur against women, just for starters.
Now, looking back on what Peterson said just about "pronouns" in the beginning, he is still the clearest-spoken of all the people who raised the alarm about this incredibly anti-democratic turn in democracies.
