Replacing each neuron in the brain with something machine made would be a ground breaking idea, if consciousness was generated or even located within the brain. But it's not, so it's a wild goose chase. If you want to enter the singularity now, shut down your default network.

This podcast did not age well at all, this guy is completely wrong about everything he said, so frustrating to hear someone given such a large platform just vomit an opinion. The breakthroughs we have made since this episode 5 years ago, have us on track to achieve longevity escape velocity in the 2030s, all this information is available on YouTube as well. This guy's needs come on the podcast again with Ray kurzweil, so he can be educated by much smarter people.
