I keep saying this, i just noticed he said it…I don’t know (5:56) Brian cox, Neil degrasse Tyson, all of them I like but they say we don’t know, this is what we think happened (big bang, other important discoveries) they say this but for sure there isn’t a God, or for sure this isn’t going to happen! It’s kind of hypocritical!
how came here after 2024 Joe Rogan Kurzweil podcast?
Ray Kurzwell is most certainly a deep thinker just because he disagrees with him doesn't make him not. I think his comment was a bit disrespectful and arrogant
This video is 5 years old. I wonder what Sean Carroll would have to say now in the age of emerging AI?
Ai becoming smarter than humans sounds crazy until you realize that humans aren’t fundamentally special. Our brain is just a collection of atoms and molecules that was literally made blindly by trial an error. It feels super arbitrary to just say this that a small 3 pound ball of meat is now the unbeatable forever standard of computing. Like even if it is for some reason impossible to make a brain smarter then a human, a human level ai basically gets super intelligence for free by just speeding up its relative experience of time and making copies of itself that can work on many things in parallel. It could even use these two freebies to develop other forms of super intelligence like improvements to hardware and software architecture
