We buy innovation with inequality??? No Jordan we most certainly do not agree on that! This is the case for a completely false and unnecessary slave/master economy. No limit = Too Big To Fail, who killed the electric car innovations for the past 50 years, innovation is competition and large corporations will protect their interests against all innovation, big tobacco , big sugar, big finance don't care about the public good, on this we can ALL AGREE.
Us poor folk get nothing. Blame it on work ethic, luck, being sexy, intelligence. We live paycheck to paycheck. We spend most of our money on insulin, rent, food, etc.
we make a decent amount so we don’t get benefits, but we are struggling.
Everyone should be set up and not worried about tomorrow.
UBI will likely become possible through the increasing automation of labour over the next few decades.
By taxing the labour of machines and AI, a lot of money would likely become available
UBI should be structured based on your qualifications though. That way we can continue to incentivise education.
so much ignorance with smart people. not fully wrong, but look how much things are changing in just 5 years
The interesting thing about UBIs where they have been trialled is that a lot of people started business or went back to school and rates of drug and alcohol abuse actually went down because people could engage in long-term thinking. Not sure if this works on scale but I hope it could. The other thing about them it that they are for EVERYONE, rich and poor, no matter the circumstance, so they need a lot less beurocracy and can save money just through sheer simplicity.
