Because it is necessary for all of us to appear before the tribunal of Christ so that each one may receive according to what they have done while in the body, whether good or bad. Dear listener, did you know that all Christians must appear before the tribunal of Christ, also known as the judgment of believers? It is a fact that every Christian must give an account at the end of their life for their actions, words, and works. In this tribunal, our faithfulness and service to God will be evaluated, and rewards will be granted for our service. This video will be very interesting, and every Christian needs to know this information. Welcome, dear listener, to our Wisdom channel. Many believers often feel confused about this event, but it is crucial to differentiate it from the judgment of the nations mentioned in Matthew chapter 25, verses 31 and 46. The judgment of the nations will happen after the glorious coming of the Lord and will take place on Earth. On the other hand, the judgment we are talking about occurs between the rapture and the second coming. The purpose of the judgment of the nations is to separate people before the beginning of Jesus’ millennial kingdom. The wicked and cruel will not enter, while the righteous and good will. However, in the judgment we are discussing now, there is no possibility of condemnation, as evidenced by the conditions in which it takes place. It is also important to differentiate it from the judgment before the great white throne that will take place after the final defeat of Satan and his followers at the end of the millennium, as described in Revelation chapter 20, verses 11 and 15. The descriptions of these three judgments eliminate any possibility of confusion. Having clarified this, let’s move on to its concept.
In Greek, the term “tribunal” has two distinct meanings. The first is “kriterion,” which refers to a tribunal where a trial is held to find the guilty and issue sentences. This term applies to the judgment of the great white throne with all its characteristics and values. Therefore, this type of tribunal aims to condemn the accused. The second meaning is “bema,” which refers to an elevated tribunal accessed by steps. This tribunal was used as the official seat of a judge to witness Greek games and reward the winners. It was called “bema” or reward seat. Unlike the first type of tribunal, its goal is not to condemn but to reward. So, we can define the tribunal of Christ as the place where saved believers will appear before Jesus to be evaluated, not for condemnation but to receive their deserved reward. Therefore, we can define the tribunal of Christ or bema of Christ as the place where saved believers will present themselves to Jesus to be evaluated and receive their deserved reward. Dear listener, I would like to clarify and avoid confusion. The tribunal of Christ is intended exclusively for believers who have been saved, both those who have died in Christ and those who will be taken in the rapture. The sole purpose of this judgment is to grant rewards to believers; it is not a judgment of condemnation. Let’s analyze two verses that clearly describe the judgment of Christ. Although there are many more, these two will give us an idea of what it implies. We find the first one in 2 Corinthians chapter 5, verse 10, which says, ‘For we must all appear before the tribunal of Christ, so that each one may receive according to what he has done while in the body, whether good or bad.’ According to this passage, all believers will be judged; there will be no exceptions. Each of us will be evaluated by Christ. The word ‘appear’ comes from the Greek ‘phaneroo,’ which means to be revealed, open, or made public. God will examine and reveal the true reality of each one of us. Also mentioned in this passage are ‘good’ and ‘bad.’ These Greek terms do not refer to the morality of things; rather, Paul wanted to compare activities of eternal value with trivial ones. His message was not that believers should avoid certain beneficial things on Earth but that they should glorify God in them and dedicate most of their energy and time to what truly has value for eternity.
