The greatest thing this guy did in his life was get rid of Courtney Love asap.
REM throughout their entire career split all royalties evenly among the four band members. They even put the members names on all songwriting credits in alphabetical order so as not to make one member seem more important. That was a very unique thing to do and it made that band truly a democracy. And they lasted almost 40 years, so it obviously made a difference.
