  1. The problem wit net neutrality is that people want to hand power over to the government to regulate a theoretical problem. I think the best thing to do is pass a law requiring all ISPs to be transparent with throttling practices and the market can settle it out from there.

  2. Even Google had to stop its efforts to become a new competing ISP due to the already in-place monopoly. Let me say that again; GOOGLE. If Google couldn't break through the ISP monopoly, literally no one else stands a chance. It's actually insane. Also net neutrality had been around forever but not written in stone until a few years ago when ISPs were trying to throttle Netflix and charged them a large fee just to exist. Also Facetime was being blocked by another ISP in favor of forcing people to use their in-house Facetime-like app. Some ISPs even charge you an extra monthly fee to unlock your own WiFI as if it's a separate internet service!

ISPs are scumbags and will do anything they can to make more money. They don't understand that the internet is a utility with a profit ceiling. They're pulling everything they can out of their ass to make shareholders happy and to see that little line graph climb every year. In normal situations the consumer decides with their dollar but the reality is that there are no competitors. The ISPs were subsidized by the government to install these lines and now share them amongst themselves as a monopoly. It doesn't work like other businesses, it's a utility. The consumer does NOT have a choice.

  3. oh can we talk about how the people that pushed the repeal through despite an OVERWHELMING majority of americans being against it because they would financially benefit from it? that is the real reason this happened. not a 50/50 issue. do you want the internet to be perfect like it is or be fucked up from corruption is are the options to side with.

  4. Lol, talk about toxicity! Joe says he wants to hear both sides and a bunch of keyboard warriors come and flame him. It’s like they’re afraid of hearing why repealing net neutrality is a good thing!
