What saved everyone from getting mauled and killed is the fact that the bear didn't want to maul/kill anyone of them. If it wanted they wouldn't have a chance to have the experience at all. The bear would have killed as easily and as fast as you are wiping your ass after a coffee shit.
As a security guard stationed in the remote areas of British Columbia, i deal w black bears on a daily basis and have bear spray, and many protective equipments but imagining dealing with a 1200 pound brown bear without a heavy powerful shot gun sends a shiver down my spine.
And the bear came LOLLAPING ova tha mountain
"we were all thinking lets have lunch…."
Bear: "Iunch sounds great!!"
