How would that even be possible? Most of the time I have multiple thoughts and conversations going on in my head at the same time so it's not like they can just pin down the voice in your head to one area of the brain.
It's been a while since I've seen minority report, but they usually caught them in the act or right before, didn't they? There's a bit of a difference between thinking of shooting someone, and actually grabbing a gun and pointing it at them. Maybe I'm wrong, but the point of the movie in the end was that human beings are just shit and will find a way to ruin what seems like a good system and corrupt it no matter what, not that the system itself was necessarily bad.
Michael shermer is a putz. He never has anything substantial to add to any discussion. He just spouts conjecture with no facts to back it up.
