The "truth" of the Bible, well, the Old Testament, at least, is that something drastic, titanic, and massively incomprehensible to the humans of the era, happened, not just once, or twice, but as many as 17 times, between Noah's Flood, in the mid-25th Century BC, and Homer's Troy of the late 8th Century BC. The Books of the Old Testament speak to the horrors, of the Tower of Babel incident, Sodom and Gomorrah, Exodus, Joshua, II Samuel, II Kings/Chronicles/I Isaiah, and Ezekiel the latter three bringing about the Fall of Empires in the 12th Century BC. Bad things happened in such profusion, mankind was left with its full complement of phobias, irrational beliefs, and biases, the worst of which, racism, is working its evil way through civilization today. These are the "truths", among many others, attributed by religionists to an "angry" God, when it was really a Big Dumb Rock, acting the way Big Dumb Rocks do, in our electric Universe. God, the Creator, is extra-Universal, outside the plane of this existence. As such, He cannot interfere in the affairs of Men, as Jesus suggests. Anything else is foolishness based on scare tactics, logical fallacies, and the relentless public relations campaigns waged by religions over the last 3,200 years to "prove" how "close" to God they, and their spokesmen, consider themselves. Some religions have been apostasies, some have left a bloody trail through the centuries, trying to prove themselves. If they spoke for God, in reality, they would not have needed to kill, maim, or otherwise harm anyone. I think Jesus said that, too.
