This is the problem with conventional medicine. The solution was so simple. But its not a Big Pharma solution which is what conventional doctors are trained to use. People could be suffering for years and all they need to so is supplement with the necessary nutrients and the body can fix the issue but nutrition and pharma sponsored medicine seem to be at odds with each other. at least that is what big pharma thinks.
I have this condition! Specifically, a version known as XLH or X-Linked Hypophosphatemia (known, also, by several other names), wherein the patients are born with a mutated gene called the PHEX gene. I am what's known as a spontaneous case because nobody else in my family has it. Luckily for me, I was diagnosed 32 years ago, at age 2, and have been treated ever since. Like Jimmy said, it's very rare and most physicians are completely unfamiliar with it.
It's very unlikely that Jimmy or Joe will ever see this comment, but anyone interested should research XLH, a relatively new drug which replaces those phosphorous supplimemts (and often prescription vitamin d that patients also have to take) called Crysvita, and spread the word! There are very few of us around and the struggle for the patients and their families can certainly be reduced with proper education and medication.
