The problem with MeToo is that these people are instantly able to make a claim and without any sort of legal due process, these men are being publicly hung and their characters assassinated. Not to say that women aren’t being raped and harassed and there is absolutely no justification for any of it. There are very bad men out there and there can be no excuses made if the situation actually happened. But I think there are also very bad women out there who see this as their opportunity to exploit a movement for publicity or to shame somebody they just don’t like. Allowing somebody to be publicly hung without any sort of fair trial or evidence to back up a claim is wrong and exploitative. It’s to the point where I’ve seriously considered the possibility of somebody creating false accusations about me, and as such I have to be really careful about who I sleep with. Because in today’s society, reality doesn’t matter as long as there is a woman making a sensational claim who can be instantly validated by the MeToo movement.
