This is the best interpretation of gender politics and sexual relationships in the work place I’ve ever heard. If only HR assessments and memos delved into the question of why the line is drawn where it is, rather than an ideological normative discussion about why you should not do something.

Dressing “sexy” at a family reunion is not characterized enough here. It’s also to signal success, that you spent time on yourself. Why? So others may infer other areas you’ve spent time on yourself like your home and finances being in order. It’s like a new car.
