Joe loves to make fun of Elvis's abilities. Why not ask some of the badasses, who actually knew Elvis, like Bill Superfoot Wallace and Dave Hebler, if Elvis was the real deal or not? Or ask Yong Rhee, the son of Kang Rhee, if his father was presenting 8th degree black belts to people without them earning it!
Elvis was a legit tough guy. He was whipping ass years before he even heard of Karate. Folks need to do their research on his pre-army years of performing, from 1954-57. (he didn't begin martial arts training until he was in the Army). Elvis was a tough SOB! He wasn't the guy you see in the movie that came out this year either. That movie is just a work of fiction, being marketed as a Biopic. Its a fraud. Did fame soften him some? Maybe, maybe not. He was not soft by any means. I think Joe is making fun of Elvis's fighting, out of not knowing the real story about that part of his life. If the only thing people know about Elvis's fighting abilities, is by watching clips from the Gladiators movie that he was making but never finished, I can see them assuming he wasnt the real deal. Make no mistake though. You didnt want a one on one confrontation with him. When Elvis got angry, a very dark side came out in him. Not the dark side that most of us have when faced with a fight. He had a dark side that was even more extreme, than the kind and generous side that he is famous for having. He received alot of death threats against himself and his family. So he was going to do everything in his power to win. In the last decade of his life especially, if you came at him, you better be ready to fight for your life. Because Elvis was going to do just that.
