Happened to me yesterday with a conversation not on the phone and my phone locked in my pocket.
They're not actively ljstening and then quickly connecting the dots manually to give you a corresponding advert, they don't have the manpower to track millions of conversations every second. It's all algorithms, set up to detect keywords that link your accounts to corresponding adverts.

They are listening. And i think they all share info they catch. For example me and my buddies talk about something and after that i see ads on google facebook about those same thing.. i don’t know how but i feel like mobile devices are used to listen to people. Like when you charge iphone and say hey siri… siri replies…
I'm convinced if AI takes over, humans will be eliminated. It's going to do calculations a millions times over and see that the humans in power are nothing more then cancer to the earth and thus terminator 🙂
