I forget where I heard this but apparently a big reason for why African Americans dominate physical sports is because when they were taken as slaves the strongest would survive the multiple week long journey and beyond that only the strongest of them would survive the harsh conditions they would face as slaves. So basically when slaves were freed they were left with these crazy dominant physical genetics after 100s of years of brutal natural/artificial (hard to say which honestly) selection.
