  1. Jiu-Jitsu originated in the samurai culture for defending oneself if you fell on the ground? Wouldn't they have utilized weapons while (grappling)? Military exercises become a sport in times of peace.. catch wrestling is not American its European.

  2. I was taught Japanese ju jitsu in Scotland, all I know its the most brutal martial art, the takedown locks are designed to BREAK,SNAP and DISLOCATE bones and joints on the way down, strikes are defended in a similar manner, with the routines allowing you to counter very easily with a LOCK, SNAP, or BREAK, I dont know where this "art" came from, but by the time it crossed oceans and continents and reached our shores, it was a perfected craft of pure destruction, and its no wonder that the MMA is a toned downed version, as the jui jitsu I was taught is far more brutal, the ju jitsu schools in Scotland are run by ex army instructers, so you can guess how serious they take this art, and a full on, no rules routine is simply unmatched by any other martial art, end of, go watch some training videos, and you will understand why this blend of judo, karate, ti chi, and simple common sense, is the "Killer" art.

  3. that "Aikido Kimono" is actuall a "hakama"-japanese traditional clothing, and those in the clip are more specifically called "umanori" because they are divided, not uniform like a kilt or dress. Japanese men and women wore this kind of clothing daily,it is not "aikido kimono".
