Ju Jitsu was originally the combination of judo, jiu jitsu, and karate. It was an umbrella term. People that say "karate is stupid" have no idea wtf they're talking about. The arrogance in bjj is unbelievable.

Modern bjj is a joke, most practitioners nowadays just have their belts handed to them without them properly being earned and that's dangerous.
This story is incomplete. Look into when Jigoro Kano went to learn catch wrestling from the guy who created Marques of queens berry boxing rules.
So essentially he took this "thug art" that people called jujitsu, and updated it with what he learned in England.
