Well of course he is never going to present or argue against actual flat earth knowledge, people will only argue FOR the ball earth. they wont try to disprove what you say, they will just present what they "KNOW" to be true. they will be like, oh then what about satellites? what about sun set? what about thousands of scientists? All flat earthers have this in common, they don't give a shit about being right about everything, they are OK with being wrong and conforming to the facts presented. ALL others will hold to preconceived notions, leave them in the dark, pieces of shit.

What did Ferrari-Nunes say?
– Mad Mike Hughes is a jerk. OK.
– Chris Monk is a spy. OK.
– Sargent/Campanella are not anti-semitic. OK.
– Popov's article. It doesn't say earth is flat; it says it could be fixed. See "Almagest".
– Kyrie Irving is not an authority. OK.
– Seeing across Lake Michigan is possible. Yes, and refraction explains it.
– NASA says the ISS travels at 17k mph. How is that a problem?
– Burdick associates Trump with FE. He shouldn't, I agree. The rest goes on like that.

So Burdick is a lightweight, but where are the reasons for thinking the earth is flat?
All the FE stuff called "research" doesn't add up, that I can see. Where's the map with Australia smaller than the US? Where's the physics/math behind FE claims, like perspective chopping things off, or no rising moon rotation with latitude, or sundials working, or the sun getting magnified by thick air, etc. etc.?
Of course people are gullible. That doesn't mean everything they've been told is wrong. If you want to sell FE, don't you have to start with seriously explaining how it works? (Rowbotham tried, but he counted on nobody questioning him.)
4:16 "lighthouses would have to be tall to be seen over long distances"
No Sir, you are mistaken here: On a flat plane the light could be placed directly on the plane and one should be able to see it infinitely far, or as far as the light can be detected. An "elementary knowledge of perspective" (as you chose to condescendingly put it) proves THIS point. So not only you are wrong, but you also try to make people who don't share your false opinion look stupid. Charming.
4:26 "people are able to bring back into view boats that have vanished beyond the horizon"
Well, they are NOT able to do this. If boats can be zoomed in again, they were not far enough out yet to be beyond the horizon line. They were just far enough away to fall below the resolution limit of the human eye, which might be the case at a distance of several miles, while still being well in front of the horizon. This is the case in all of the "bringing back into view" footage i've seen so far.
Conclusion: Within the first few minutes you make two fat mistakes and show a strong conviction towards your preconceived notion that the earth is flat, leading you to all sorts of false conclusions.
I am surprised that someone who professes to be an academic can be naive enough to get suckered into believing flat earth is flat. The New Yorker did not reject your letter because it was critical but simply because there is absolutely zero evidence for FE.
If you wish to be taken seriously, provide some actual empirical evidence from properly conducted experiments with a clear explanation of method, equipment, limitations, errors, and calculations.
You will be the first FE proponent who has ever done so.
