Williams stole jokes in his early career when he was becoming popular too. I'm glad word didn't spread back then because he stopped stealing and became one of the greatest comics of all time. Cook and Mencia would never reach those levels regardless because they didn't have the same talent Robin did but it's an interesting thought.
It was a mix of righteous anger and probably a little jealousy. Mencia was huge at the time. Joe Rogan has always wanted to be a standup comic, but no one likes him for his standup. He absolutely sucks at it. Mencia stole jokes, but he knew how to work a crowd.
The saddest part of this whole thing is if he was truly funny, he would have been able to come back and make endless material of stealing jokes and being cancelled, and the whole changing names and so many more topics.
Funny is funny and he just doesn’t have the skills when it’s just his set…
It’s all on him
This story shows when you stand on business, and are true to yourself, you'll always end up on top.
Mencia never stole any jokes. He took an idea of a joke, added his own mix into it, and used the joke. Please learn what plagiarism really is. If Carlos a Mencia didn’t use someone else’s joke word for fucking word, then it isn’t plagiarism. Rogan was made that Mencia was bigger than him at the time and had to shht on a great comic. Please learn what plagiarism really is. Long live Mencia.
