It’s interesting, coming back to this topic 5 years later. As a retired police officer, I find it interesting that people make the argument about putting armed officers in our schools. Do YOU wanna go up against a suspect who is heavily armed and you only have a handgun? Even if you had ALL the training in the world, you would know that you are at a tactical disadvantage. Add in the possibility of mental illness and the suspect doesn’t care about dying.
This whole gun control debate shows the ignorance of the general population. Ever think why very few people have fully auto weapons? That is because the government requires licensing to own one. Same thing here, require the same licensing for semi-auto rifles.
All this noise surrounding this issue, such as bullying and other stuff is just mental mastubation. Kids didn’t start bringing guns to school until guns were damn near everywhere and readily accessible. Mentally ill people didn’t start shooting up the joint until guns were damn near everywhere and readily accessible.
We figured this sht out a long time ago with nuclear weapons. More nuclear weapons make the world less safe.
