I like Joe but often his Americanised indoctrinated undistanding of socialism shines through.
I do believe that more Americans are starting to understand that true socialism is an equality of opportunity (period) and that their is a need for state control of those thing everyone needs rather than left to control for profit. US and sadly the world over lacks the opportunity to a grown up debate that is balanced and is far to often shut down by the 'I'm all right jacks'.
I can assure him that true socialists become frustrated by the 'socialist narrative' that he wrongly believes is their mantra.
You'd be surprised how close to socialism 'some' of the philosophies of pre-Ragan America there where.

Greatly…. this is….a load of sh!t….. yes you have to put in effort to achieve things…. HOWEVER…. Capitalism IS BASED ON EFFORT INEQUALITY. This effort inequality is enforced BY THE GOVERNMENT and regulatory bodies…. they ensure the value of your effort is capped. What America achieved in the outsourcing of industry and labour to Asia is again part or the program of effort inequality…. So you can have someone in India sleeping on a concrete floor being paid 30 cents a day so you can have a 10,000 % mark up on your apparel business and say to other people 'look how smart I am and sh!t you are, I made millions off the back of the poor in India, what's your effort been like… mother f@#ker….?'. Yep as I've insinuated, this is a wank.
Best thing we can do is abolish leftism cause leftism is a degenerative mental disorder if not outright criminal.
