humans are just lucky. I'm sure many animals have 1 or 2 aspects of intelligence across the whole spectrum but humans just so happen to get the right ones to develop a society and advanced technology.
Something wilder than this is that Elephants have been documented scientifically to release the same hormones in their brain that we do when we see something cute when they look at humans. So basically how elephants feel about humans is on par with how we feel when looking at a kitten or puppy. This goes into the documented research on elephants that suggests that while they are pretty intelligent, a big part of their intellect is on an emotional level. So the old phrase “An elephant never forgets” could be less about logical perfect memory recall and more of a “this elephant remembers you made them feel a certain way and links you to that feeling.”
They abuse them with cruel acts to get them to hold a paint brush.
If a dog had a trunk, it would paint like picasso……rubbish, but a painting never the less. I here an elephant can solve a rubiks cube, but it taks like a minute and a half. Hardly a world record.
