I’ve been a on a off good type dad my son is 5 I try so hard to be a good dad I often cry because I feel terrible for how I am as a father I have bi polar I’m not abusive or anything I just don’t play with him or do anything to connect and it’s because my bi polar makes me so tired mentally I feel like I’ve been working all day which I have but it feels like x10 because of mental and physical stress what can I do I’m seeking a therapist but what else can I do until then?
My son is a Month and a half old , first child. Boy not sure how to put this but being a dad has been extremely difficult for reasons that may seem foreign to anyone without a child . I’m married to my wife we’ve been together 3 years. Sure the sleepless nights are terrible but the hardest part is managing your relationship while enduring these new avenues of patience for and with the baby . I can easily see how the stress from everything can whirlwind into an unhappy situation with your spouse due to pressures you’ve never been under before . Sort of like how living with someone can show you more of and about them , having a child is the ultimate test of love , patience , and willingness to not be bothered by mood swings (aka having a short memory ) my wife has never spoken to me the way she does now and it’s really taken a bunch of understanding what’s happening to her hormones to not jump out the window and take this as a concrete shift in respect . Communicating has saved us so far , but I was never prepared for how much of an impact the mood between the two parents plays into the energy levels moving into the next hour , day , so forth . Wish me luck fellas , got to man through it . Btw I’m 28 she’s 33 we have a business that combined yields 7 figure range for yearly income , the money is NO factor here thought that was worth noting being anyone struggling will go through these same obstacles within the parenting process which is also why divorce and single moms rates are so high . Really against repeating generational cycles and my mother was a single mom so that puts an iron clad over the , “let’s make it work” theology
How’s this guy gonna talk about being a “beast” dad and other kids being bad… but his kid was out beating other kids asses and when they brought it up to him he thought that it was OK. Ok Brenden you make so much sense 🙄
