  1. It's no surprise vegans are grumpy, with so little tyrosine, tryptophan, vitamin D, B12 and B3 in their diet. Insufficient levels of any of these can cause mental health issues. Somehow, the first line of treatment for suspected neurotransmitter deficits is not increasing the foods that we naturally use to produce them. It's almost as if the profit margins for pharmaceuticals such as antidepressants are higher than the profit margins on meat and eggs.
