The government could do so many things with tax dollars to prevent homelessness. Idk about other areas, but in eastern TN there are practically ZERO resources for women with children, ESPECIALLY if you have ANY substances in your system. I’ve hit rock bottom and desperately needed help and there was no resources available. I ended up losing custody of my two kids because i ended up living in a tent. The very week i didn’t have kids with me i was able to get a job, i couldnt even get help with childcare because i had to do a DNA test for my daughter and because i only had her social security card and not her birth certificate they wouldn’t do the test and the child support office refused to set me up another appt. If you want to actually do something about homelessness start by preventing it and offering resources to people who ARE willing to work and fight and claw and walk a tight rope just to have a roof over their head and a stable living situation.
Cancel Culture needs to be canceled.
