Crazy how quickly this episode turned from both Matt and Joe seemingly being 100% on the same page, to having completely opposing viewpoints. While I don't agree with Matt's position on marriage, I can certainly appreciate the respectful dialogue and maturity between the two of them. Props to them both.
How healthy to see two adults who disagree strongly on fundamental topics have a healthy debate without drama. This is how we should be interacting with those we disagree with. Composure, maturity and understanding.

You spent way too much time on the marriage thing.
I run the risk of spreading pearls before swine, bur marriage at it's core is NOT a man-made institution. It has been coopted by governments but it is at its core a covenant between a man and woman with God, to multiply and replenish the earth.
Much joy and pleasure can be had within it, but it is THE covenant wherein we have sex, outside of which it is sin. Sin is against God; you'll have to deal with the consequences of that yourself.
Everyone has their agency whether they want to have sex outside that covenant, but it does not make it good or correct.
Marriage is GOD'S covenant, not man's made up social agreement.
