cans and bottles are 10cents each now so those are for surely being recycled
I currently work at a landfill and have done so since 2009. Anyone care to guess where your “recycling” goes when oil prices drop? You guessed it… it’s landfilled. It’s cheaper to make new stuff then it does to recycle the material for a feel good “recycled” product. Most of the state mandated recycling programs have tremendous backlog of materials because nobody is buying it, so it ends up landfilled because the waste streams never stops. Recycling programs are nothing but “feel good” programs. You want to make a real difference? Stop buying crap you don’t really need.
In Germany they have vending machines that pay you for returning bottles and beer is cheaper than bottled water. Do the math.
"A lot of people got hurt using glass" what a bad joke. Were that the case you would have plastic windows in your home. Plastic has its usefulness, however it has flooded the market due to corporations. As we live in a "disposable" society driven by greed.
Fantastic guest, Rogan rules!
