  1. Recently hired to be a cook at a prominent restaurant that uses mostly local farms and free range. Hoping they only use that – – as I will feel guilty if not – but I guess I'll find out as I go along. I was offered a gig that pays way more but it's all factory farmed and I abstained. Applied to a vegan spot too. I love to cook but it upsets me we dont have more stringent regulations. It makes the art of it less enjoyable

  2. We need a balance tho. Factory farms tip thats scale. Now it's leading to epidemics, obesity, heart disease, cancers and global warming. We need to revert back to the agricultural system prior to the Factory farms. Meat is treated like a necessity when it reality it's should be more like gourmet food as in something to be had once in a while. Similar to hunting in it's way that it's a seasonal activity in this 21st century. Hunters know if we hunt year round we could inevitably destroy an entire species causing another unbalance in our ecosystem which can lead to even more bigger issues. I'm a vegan myself but I don't force my views on others. I hope y'all can see my side of it tho.

  3. Here is the problem with vegans as an ex vegan. Part of the definition of being vegan is that you don’t believe in killing animals. They’re trying to get society to treat animals better, with the grand goal of being; society to end the killing of animals. The problem is that humans are animals and therefor are designed to eat meat. So, that goal is just not a reasonable thing to say to society right now. So I think we can all agree that factory farming would be the first thing for vegans to tackle in order to stop the killing of animals. But this does not persuade society into ending factory farms, because when a vegan tells them that we need to end factory farms, they link in their heads that the desired outcome of the vegans is for no more meat at all, making people not even think about factory farms, and think about themselves and what they will do with no more meat. But it doesn’t mean no more meat! This is the problem with the word vegan and the people that call themselves vegans. They are the ones that are serious about ending factory farming and will under no circumstances buy that shit. But they ruin any ability of ending factory farming by calling themselves vegan, because the word vegan is this big ideal that you don’t want to kill animals. I used to be vegan, and believed we should stop killing animals. If you want factory farming to end, this is not a good thing to impose on society or to even think of as a reasonable solution for society to follow because society will push back. Now death and factory farming are two different things. 7 billion animals and ongoing until it stops, are in and being bred into unbelievably terrible situations right this second and throughout your sleep tonight, so that you can go to the store tomorrow and grab a couple burgers for a casual dinner tonight with your coworker or something. The people that identify as vegans are the people that care most about ending factory farming, because they want to stop animals from being killed. To solve it though, people need to stop buying meat from these sources, and that is so misinformed by vegans. They tell people to stop eating meat and really give no guideline on how a meat loving society of millions and millions of people will work with no factory farms. A lot of them also don’t try to find any agreeable solution or middle ground with people, making it about themselves and taking away the chance of someone becoming genuinely sympathetic for the animals to the point where they stop purchasing meat sourced from factory farms, and that’s the only thing that will stop factory farms, more people truly against them and not buying from them. you see what I mean? I am not vegan, but I am vegetarian and will never buy or eat meat produced in a factory farm, and get my dairy and eggs locally. It’s 4am rn so if anyone read this and didn’t get my point or something lmk.
