I've been looking for something like this. I can't bring myself to shoot an animal, or at least not yet, but I respect hunters and know that their ARE hunters that still love or even raise animals like deer. I respect them. Poachers I despise since they only kill for trophy or CERTAIN parts and leave the rest to waste.
Even trophy/sport hunters still make use of the meat
The only time I might be against a hunter is if they waste the resources or purposefully drag out the animal's pain for much longer than it should even go on for (beating them to death, etc)
Edit: Oh lord the comments
Also for those disagreeing with this view, remember there are also predators in the wild that HAVE actually fostered or protected a baby animal despite them being their food source. So yes you can do both
Yeah, I see nothing wrong with meat, I was a vegan, I now eat happy eggs, or sometimes other pasture raised eggs. I think I'll catch fish in summer. I'll might hunt one day idk, there's nothing wrong with death, it's only a change of form. A shot to the head is ethical in my opinion.
When I die, I dont really want it to be a big deal.
The title is an oxymoron lol moralizing taking a life to eventually be hung as a confirmed kill trophy by falsely equating the rush of adrenaline and endorphins as your "love" for the animal and scoffing at people who disagree with this hobby of yours by saying "they just don't get it" is a bit moronic while lacking integrity. It can't be a "humbling experience" when the action lacks humility lol. It makes you feel humble so it must be ok might be a good reason but isn't good reasoning.
"Wild animals never kill for sport. Man is the only one to whom the torture and death of his fellow creatures is amusing in itself."
-James Anthony Froude
I can respect hunting over say, going to the store and buying meat that has been killed for your convenience without you having to get your hands dirty however..
Saying that you can be an animal lover and then go on to shoot and kill them is such a stupidly self contradicting statement in of itself.
If I were to beat and kill someone and turn around and say I did it because I love them I'm sure most would agree that no, you really don't regardless if I say yeah but some indigenous cultures do or but we are overpopulating.
Joe Rogan is not a spiritual native hunting to survive.
To be clear, I am not trying to discredit conservation nor back it either only pointing out and critisizing the opening statement.
